If you can stomach the price tag, you can soak up the summer sun from your beachfront oasis on Nantucket.
Built in 1930, 41 Jefferson Ave. is a stunning 0.94-acre luxury compound tucked in the ritzy Cliffside neighborhood. Located on Cliff Beach, home to rolling waves and sandy beaches, it’s currently operated as a hotel by the neighboring Cliffside Beach Club. Zoned as both commercial and residential, the 7,000-square-foot residential space and beachfront dream is on the market for $29,975,000.
A spacious Belgian block area welcomes you and provides parking for 14 vehicles. Surrounded by a peaceful entry courtyard and garden, the structure comprises six residences. First, there’s a young main house with four separate units. The largest space in the main house is a three-bed, three-bath unit measuring 2,304 square feet across two floors.
On the lower floor, you’ll find two bedroom suites with soaking tubs and marble countertops. There’s also a laundry area.
Upstairs, there’s an open floor plan with a kitchen and living and dining areas. You’ll also find an additional bedroom and full bathroom in the back of the unit. A deck off the living and dining space overlooking Cliff Beach is the crown jewel of the unit, perfect for enjoying the ocean breeze.
“That’s where you get the most spectacular sunsets,” said Allison Mazur of Compass, who has the listing.
The second unit, which measures 1,338 square feet, features two bedrooms and two en-suite baths. Boasting a similar open floor plan that highlights stunning living and dining areas, it comes with two decks right on the beach, including one off the kitchen.
The third unit, which measures 943 square feet, has two bedrooms and two baths, as well as a stunning beachfront deck.
The final unit of the main structure is a one-bed, one-bath residence measuring 639 square feet and boasting a beachfront deck.
Each of the units “live differently,” Mazur said.
In addition to the main house, there are two cottages on the property. The first, which measures 870 square feet, is a one-bed, one-bath unit with a cozy living room that features a peaked wooden ceiling and brick fireplace. It also has a porch. The second, which measures 1,294 square feet, is a one-bed, one-bath unit with an outdoor shower, perfect for rinsing off after a day in the sand.
“It’s so rare. It’s a treasure. There’s really nothing like it,” Mazur said. “It’s difficult in Nantucket to find a property that checks so many boxes.”
Another important feature Mazur noted is the adaptability of the estate, which could function as a private home or something different.
“Some potential uses could include a spectacular residential compound with entirely separate living spaces for extended family and guests, a luxury boutique hotel, an exclusive private club, or a joint venture with other island accommodation businesses, just to name a few,” Mazur said.
