    Connecticut man dies after being pulled from water at Nantucket triathlon

    Nantucket, MA (WTNH) — A man from Connecticut has died after being pulled from the water during the Nantucket Triathlon on Saturday, according to the Nantucket Fire Department.

    Officials say firefighters and lifeguards were alerted to a triathlon participant who was unresponsive around 7:01 a.m. After pulling the man out of the water, lifesaving measures were applied, and the patient was stabilized. He was transported to an ambulance and taken to Nantucket Cottage Hospital for further medical treatment.

    The Nantucket Fire Department confirmed the man’s death at 8:05 a.m. Saturday. The identification has not been released.
