YEDLOSKY, VINCENT M., 82, Northern Cambria, passed away July 13, 2024, in Altoona. Born January 18, 1942, in Barnesboro, the son of Michael and Odesa (Keith) Yedlosky. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Cecelia (Green) Yedlosky; and sister, Katherine Keith Riddle. Survived by children, Michael Yedlosky, Grassflat; Kathy Yedlosky, Northern Cambria; Nancy Yedlosky, Colver; Dolly Weber, Ebensburg; Brian Yedlosky, Colver; Cory Yedlosky, Huntingdon; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Vince worked many years as a self-employed plumber and pipefitter. Honoring his request there will be no public services. Interment will be in McDowell Cemetery. Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.

Road Work Set For Jackson and Concord Townships
Several local roads will be shut down later this week in Jackson and Concord Townships. In Jackson Township, Pattison Street Extension will be closed for three to four weeks beginning Wednesday. The closure will run from Autumn Wood Drive to Gate Dancer/Old Ehrman Road in Cranberry Township. Access from Hartzell Road to Pattison will also be closed.

Caitlin Clark breaks WNBA's game assists record with 19 in Fever's loss to Wings. ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Indiana rookie Caitlin Clark broke the WNBA record for assists in a game Wednesday night, finishing with 19 in the Fever’s 101-93 loss to the Dallas Wings. The previous record was 18 by Courtney Vandersloot for Chicago on Aug. 31, 2020. Vandersloot also had 18 in a playoff game on Sept. 28, 2021. And the league’s previous record for assists by a rookie was 16, set by Ticha Penicheiro for Sacramento on July 29, 1998. The record-breaker for Clark came on a play where she set Kelsey Mitchell up for a 3-pointer with 2:22 remaining. That tied it at 93, but Dallas closed with an 8-0 run. Clark entered the game as the WNBA’s assists-per-game leader this season. She added 24 points on 10-for-19 shooting.

Rosaline Ann (Cruse) Gualardo, born March 9, 1934 in Altoona, Pa. passed away peacefully at her home in Carolina Shores, N.C. on July 3, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Versal E. Cruse and Ruth E. (Claar) Cruse, and a brother, Robert Cruse (Mary Zabala). She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Joseph B. Gualardo; daughter, Darcy Ann Tomko (Robert); and son, Samuel Joseph Gualardo (Pamela); grandchildren, Melissa Rose Triplett (Ryan), Matthew Robert Tomko (Desiree), Alexi Rose Neal (Kurt), and Zachary Joseph Gualardo (Dalton); great-grandchildren, Gavin, Makenna Rose, Amelia, Gabriel, Jaxson, Layne, Colson, Baylee Rose and Alaina; brother, Kenneth Cruse (Isabele); nephews, Denny, Shane, Dale; and nieces, Robin and Stacy. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, September 13, at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church, 5101 Ocean Highway West, Shallotte, N.C.

PSP INVESTIGATING INCIDENT NEAR REGENCY MALL COMPLEX
State police are investigating an incident that occurred near the Regency Mall complex last night. The investigation started at 5:23 PM near Pompano Drive of White Township in The Grove apartment complex. State police Public Information Officer Trooper Cliff Greenfield said that during that incident, officers conducted a traffic stop in front of Tres Amigos on a vehicle that was believed to be involved in the incident.

City man’s appeal of life sentence denied
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Tuesday denied an appeal requested by an Altoona man serving a life sentence for the 2002 murders of an elderly Altoona couple. The bodies of Raymond Bracken, 83, and his wife, Marjorie, 81, were found in their Spruce Avenue home after neighbors became concerned when they saw the daily newspaper was on their porch for a couple of days. They were aware Mr. Bracken liked to read the paper the first thing in the morning.
