Men's Hoops to Host Saint Francis in December
NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Niagara will host Saint Francis on Saturday, December 14 marking the second-straight season the Purple Eagles and Red Flash will square off. Niagara defeated Saint Francis last season 69-61 in Loretto, Pa., to improve to 12-10 all-time against the Red Flash. The Purple Eagles last hosted Saint Francis on Dec. 10, 2017, a 83-87 overtime loss.
CCCRA receives grant for Ghost Town Trail loop
A section of the Ghost Town Trail in Nanty Glo will finally be completed with the aid of federal funding. The Cambria County Conservation and Recreation Authority (CCCRA) received $3.3 million in funding from the Abandoned Mine Lands and Acid Mine Drainage grant programs to complete the loop of the Ghost Town Trail that travels from Ebensburg to Nanty Glo, otherwise known as the C&I Extension.

Ligonier Township appoints trail study committee, approves new baseball complex
An all-volunteer committee will pick up where a more than decade-old study left off with expanding a walking and biking trail network through the Ligonier Valley. The Ligonier Township Board of Supervisors on Tuesday voted 5-0 to fill five seats on the new Ligonier Valley Trail Study Committee, which will focus on updating a 13-year-old trail feasibility study.

Altoona’s bullpen were able to notch seven strikeouts, but some errors allowed Bowie to score twice and take Friday night’s game 2-1.
