ATV Trail Study Receives Grant
The Altoona Blair County Development Corporation has received a federal grant of nearly $250,000 for a feasibility study to decide how to create a network of all-terrain vehicle trails in Blair, Centre, Cambria and Clearfield Counties. Currently there are not enough legal ATV related trails for the nearly 16,000 active ATV registrations in the four-county area. According to a press release, it is hoped that existing legal trails can be connected along with new trails, and main streets. The grant is from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program, under administration of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
