Doris Jane (Marshall) Grove, 89, of Indiana, formerly of Sagamore, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in Heritage Grove Senior Living, Indiana. Born in Indiana on November 8, 1934, to the late Kenneth and Ruth (Lewis) Marshall, Doris worked for Season-All Industries until the plant’s closure and then for the Indiana Gazette until her retirement.
CLYMER BOROUGH COUNCIL APPROVES SEVERAL MOTIONS FOR UPCOMING FIREMAN’S CONVENTION
Clymer Borough Council met Wednesday night and approved some motions connected with the upcoming Cambria County Fireman’s Convention for July 27 to August 3rd. One of those is a waiver for the no alcohol policy at Sherman Street Ballfield for the whiffleball tournament. Another is for the closure of Sherman Street for the duration of the convention, and according to Borough Manager Sonya Schrenkel, the department will use it for some different items.

Ethan Downie Osterhout, 35, of Indiana passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024. A son of Karl E. Osterhout and Alison J. Downie, he was born Aug. 6, 1988, in Pittsburgh. Ethan relished being a Pittsburgher, even while he lived in Georgia for several years after graduating from Towson University. He had lived in Indiana since 2020. Ethan enjoyed sports, was a loyal fan of the Steelers and the Penguins, and Primanti’s was his favorite restaurant. As a little boy, Ethan loved Thomas the Tank Engine trains. As an adult, he often wore a t-shirt featuring a Thomas train logo.

Beccaria man enters guilty plea to rape of 8-year-old
CLEARFIELD — A Beccaria man pleaded guilty Monday in Clearfield County court to rape of a child for an assault on an 8-year-old girl. Byron Keith Carter, 59, also pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault – less than 13 years old, in connection with an incident on May 6, 2023, in Bigler Township, according to a court employee.
