INSTALLATION OF BOX CULVERT FOR WAYNE, CARTERN AVENUES TO TAKE PLACE TODAY
PennDOT officials are suggesting drivers find alternate routes to go around the Wayne Avenue bridge replacement project site today. Starting at 7:00 AM today and going until 7:00 tonight, there will be some further modifications to traffic patterns at the construction zone near the KCAC as crews will work on setting a box culvert in place for Marsh Run over Wayne and Carter Avenues. There will be closures of up to five minutes at a time expected as a crane is put in place to install the box culvert sections. This part of the project was originally scheduled to happen last Friday but that was delayed due to unknown reasons.

Harrington has thrown five-plus innings in eight straight starts for Double-A Altoona, logging a 2.80 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 47 strikeouts in 45 innings over that span. Harrington's season numbers are even better, but he wasn't pitching as deep into games early in the season. The 23-year-old righty matched a career high with 11 strikeouts in his most recent start July 10 against Bowie. He has three above-average or better offerings (fastball, changeup, slider) and also throws a cutter and a curveball. MOTIONS HEARING SET FOR SUSPECT IN GAREFFA KILLING
A motions hearing is set for today for one of the people accused in the death of Hayden Gareffa. Court Documents show that the hearing for 20-year-old Summer Settlemeyer will be held today in front of Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco. The hearing is dealing with motions concerning Settlemeyer’s mental health. She was one of seven adults and one juvenile that were charged with coercing Gareffa to leave his grandmother’s home and stabbed him multiple times before leaving him for dead in a field of tall grass off Oneida Mine Road in Brush Valley Township in 2022. Settlemeyer is charged with criminal homicide, kidnapping to facilitate a felony, kidnapping to inflict injury or terror, aggravated assault, conspiracy to those four charges along with statutory sexual assault.
