INDIANA 12U, 14U TEAMS SUCCESSFUL ON FRIDAY
In Little League Action, ICM 12u softball team beat Caln Little league in a 9 inning game 6-5. It was tied after 7 innings when the game went to the international tie breaker, giving each team a runner on 2nd base. The 8th inning both sides scored a run making the game tied 3-3. The 9th inning Caln scored 2 runs making the score 3-5. ICM came up to bat as the home team and was able to score a run with a single by Ella Worthington driving home AJ Putt. ICM was able to get the bases loaded with Aunika Brooks up to bat. She singled the ball into left center field bringing in 2 runs to win the game for ICM. Ella Worthington notched 15 strikeouts over six innings and held Caln without a hit. ICM will face Pittston Little league on Sunday at 5pm. The winner of that goes to the state championship game in the winner’s bracket.
INDIANA THEATER TO CELEBRATE 100TH ANNIVERSARY TODAY
The Indiana Theater will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a special day-long party. The historic venue started life as a vaudeville house in July of 1924 and was converted into a movie theater four years later. Since then it has served as a venue for live theater, a church and is now a multi-purpose performance theater with the current revitalization starting in 2022. Indiana Theater’s executive director Veldorah Rice said that she and Michael Perry said they realized when the theater’s previous tenant, a church, had left, the building could be revitalized for the community.

Despite modest statistics in her first two NCAA seasons, Meister has shown efficiency and basketball intelligence on the court. The competition for a significant role in the team has intensified with the arrival of new players, including Karoline Striplin, Faith Wiseman, Sydney Fenn, and the return of Sharnecce Currie-Jelks. Braden has been a 3-year starter for us and lettered as a Freshman as well. He has been one of our better and most dependable players. Offensively, we can move him around to various skill positions and he has been successful for us. Braden has even been our emergency QB the past few seasons due to other injuries, and he has run our offense efficiently. Defensively, he has shown the same versatility. He is one of those football players that is just a “natural” at the game.

CCCRA receives grant for Ghost Town Trail loop
