POLICE RELEASE UPDATE, PICTURES OF SUSPECTS IN RITE AID PHARMACY THEFT
Indiana Borough Police are offering more information on the theft of some drugs from the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Monday. Police say that criminal investigators are working with Rite Aid’s asset protection officers and the District Attorney’s office in pursing any leads, while residents in the area have been reviewing external camera footage. Police say that after going into the Rite Aid Monday night and taking some controlled substances, the three suspects ran on foot to the 300 block of Water street heading towards the intersection of 3rd and Water. Evidence suggests that a vehicle transported at least one if not all three suspects out of Indiana Borough heading East on Philadelphia Street.
Altoona man charged with felony DUI
An Altoona man is facing three third-degree felony charges for driving under the influence. Lukas Gene Waite, 34, has also been charged with three ungraded misdemeanors relating to drug and paraphernalia possession, as well as two summary traffic offenses, stemming from a March 31 traffic stop at the intersection of Rutters Drive and Lincoln Highway.

Central PA Humane Society faces urgent need for fosters amid surge
In a Facebook post on Saturday, officials with the Central PA Humane Society in Altoona explained that they’ve taken in over three thousand animals since 2021. CHARGES WITHDRAWN AGAINST HOME IMPROVEMENT OWNER
Charges were withdrawn at the district court level against a home improvement owner for failing to provide services. State police had filed charges against 41-year-old William Luzier of Clymer, the owner of Luzier’s Property Maintenance, for an incident in December. He was accused of accepting money from a man in Graceton for home improvement service that was allegedly not completed in a timely manner.
TROOPERS INVESTIGATING DEATH IN WHITE TOWNSHIP
State police are investigating the death of a man that occurred in White Township. Troopers say the man, who was not named in reports, died sometime overnight near Trotter’s Restaurant. They add there is no reason to believe this death is suspicious, but they are continuing to investigate and an autopsy was ordered.
