Doris Jane (Marshall) Grove, 89, of Indiana, formerly of Sagamore, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in Heritage Grove Senior Living, Indiana. Born in Indiana on November 8, 1934, to the late Kenneth and Ruth (Lewis) Marshall, Doris worked for Season-All Industries until the plant’s closure and then for the Indiana Gazette until her retirement.

Pa. Legion Region 7 Tournament at Claysburg has some changes
The Pa. American Legion Baseball Region 7 Tournament has had some adjustments made to it recently. The tournament will be held at Claysburg-Kimmel High School from Saturday, July 20, to Wednesday, July 24. There will be 4 games on Saturday and Sunday.
CHARGES WITHDRAWN AGAINST HOME IMPROVEMENT OWNER
Charges were withdrawn at the district court level against a home improvement owner for failing to provide services. State police had filed charges against 41-year-old William Luzier of Clymer, the owner of Luzier’s Property Maintenance, for an incident in December. He was accused of accepting money from a man in Graceton for home improvement service that was allegedly not completed in a timely manner.

UPMC Altoona to drop to Level III trauma designation
UPMC Altoona’s trauma center is dropping from its Level II designation to Level III in September. “Over the last several years, the volume of highly complex traumatic injuries in the community have declined significantly,” stated a UPMC spokesperson in an email, after the Mirror requested an explanation. “The change in status better aligns with the needs of our patients and ensures an appropriately resourced program related to (the) volume of highly complex traumatic injuries seen in the region.”
ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL TASTE AND TOUR IN DOWNTOWN INDIANA
Food fans and supporters of Downtown Indiana were out Thursday night to sample the best of what the town’s food scene had to offer. Last night was the annual Taste and Tour and Sam Kenly with Downtown Indiana said that there were 23 vendors in 21 locations throughout the business district. Kenly added that this remains one of the popular events in Downtown Indiana’s Schedule.

James Eugene “Jim” Gromley of Josephine passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA. Jim was born on April 19, 1968 Towanda, PA, Bradford County. Jim is the son of the late Morris Clyde Gromley and Margaret Elizabeth Travis Gromley. He was a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan School, Dixonville, PA. Jim proudly served in US Army as a Food Specialist. Most recently Jim worked as a cook for the Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, Indiana, PA. He was a life member of the Clymer Volunteer Fire Company #1.
City man accused in stabbing
A city man is behind bars after being accused of stabbing another man during a fight Tuesday night. Keith Denyiel Young Sr., 57, is facing felony drug and assault charges across two cases after police found drugs in his residence while executing a search warrant to collect evidence in the stabbing, court documents state.
