FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game has announced when salmon fishing can commence around Fairbanks as well as the selective gear that can be used. Last week we saw the first salmon swimming into interior rivers with the forecast for chum looking positive. Homer harbor expansion study receives full funding for second year
The City of Homer secured funding for the second year of a study looking into the feasibility of expanding its harbor. Gov. Mike Dunleavy signed the state capital budget on June 28 that put nearly $288,523 towards the study to pay for additional costs. This amount is on top of $750,000 the state already contributed to the project.
