A celebration of life for former Naples Daily News publisher Corbin Wyant has been postponed.

Set for Saturday, Sept. 28, the event must be rescheduled, due to Hurricane Helene.

It was to honor Corbin and his wife Donna, who died in 2017.

The celebration is being postponed because of the extensive damage Helene caused to their eldest daughter's home, said Alan Horton, a family friend, and a former editor for the Naples Daily News.

"Helene's storm surge violently flooded the home of the Wyants' daughter, Amy Milliken, and her family in Englewood," he said. "Ironically, Hurricane Ian's winds and storm surge severely damaged and inundated Corbin's Moorings home."

Donna died on the eve of Hurricane Irma.

Corbin, 87, died on July 2.

The service was scheduled to be held at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Naples.
