Naples, FL - A Miami woman has been arrested for using fraudulent credit cards and fake identities to defraud a Southwest Florida hotel.

According to the Naples Police Department, 38-year-old Alina Shimova is accused of using fraudulent credit cards and fake identities to book multiple stays at the Cove Inn on Naples Bay.

Investigators say Shimova made two five-day reservations between November 15th and December 17th, 2023, and reportedly used fictitious male names and credit cards to secure the bookings.

Upon check-out on both occasions, Shimova disputed the charges associated with the reservations.

Police also report Shimova used addresses in London, Germany, and Rwanda during the booking process.

Shimova's alleged fraudulent activity came to an end during her attempt to book a third stay on June 28th when a hotel staff member recognized her when her credit card was declined.

Police were called and arrested Shimova on charges of perpetrating a scheme to defraud.
