Kings Island Grand Carnivale event returns
Kings Island's two-week-long Grand Carnivale event kicks off on Saturday night. It will run every evening at the park through Aug. 4 between 5 and 10 p.m. According to Kings Island, guests can expect an "international celebration featuring a parade with elaborate floats, live music and entertainment, culinary selections from featured countries and fireworks to cap off each night."
Consecutive armed robberies reported in Carthage
CINCINNATI — Consecutive armed robberies were reported in Carthage Saturday evening. An armed robbery was reported in the 7000 block of Vine Street at 5:56 p.m. A second armed robbery was reported in the 6900 block of Boake Alley at 5:57 p.m. Shots were reportedly fired. No injuries were reported from the shots.

HAMILTON, Ill. — A man was rescued from flood waters Saturday morning while he was kayaking in the Mississippi River. Mike Boley, chief of the Hamilton Police Department, reported in a press release that at approximately 5 a.m. Saturday, July 20, a call was received in reference to a person who had been missing overnight in the flood waters near the Spring Island Campground.
16-year prison term handed down to Indianapolis man for aggravated battery and drug possession
On Friday, a judge sentenced an Indianapolis resident to 16 years in prison for his role in a shooting that occurred in October 2021, as well as for a drug possession charge. IMPD officers of the Northwest District swiftly responded to a call reporting a shooting incident on October 18, 2021, in the 5500 block of W 38th Street. As per their report, they found an adult female with injuries that matched gunshot wounds upon arrival. She was immediately taken to a local hospital where she is now in stable condition. The IMPD has commenced an investigation into the matter.
