Woonsocket youth center opens new food pantry
WOONSOCKET – Thanks to one passionate Woonsocket graduate from the Class of 2024, many families in the community will have better access to food where the need is most dire. The Mariam Kaba Community Food Pantry officially opened at the Harbour Youth Center on Cumberland Street on June 26. The pantry is the result of a partnership with We Share Hope, with funding from Stonelink Property Management and Leadership Rhode Island. The pantry, which includes a fridge and freezer along with shelving to store various food items, opened fully stocked and will receive its next delivery on July 11 and biweekly deliveries every Thursday after that.

Major power outage in Pawtucket
PAWTUCKET - A power outage is impacting some 7,000 customers in Pawtucket and Central Falls. No cause for the outage has been announced. According to the RI Energy site, power should be restored by 10 a.m. for most areas. Some customers saw power come back on shortly before 7 a.m.
