The Nashville Predators have been one of the success stories around the NHL this season and a team to watch. This group has been especially exciting to follow through their 14-game point streak that has them surging right before playoffs.

It all started with a 9-2 loss to a division rival in the Dallas Stars to kick them into gear, and since then, the Predators have gone 12-0-2 to jump multiple teams on their way to a first wildcard spot in the West.

Going into Feb. 17, the Predators sat four points out of a playoff spot behind the St. Louis Blues with one fewer game remaining on the schedule. This came after the 9-2 loss to the Stars and saw the team go 3-6-1 over their past 10. The Predators were even under .500 at home. There were trade rumors as if the Predators were going to sell and nobody thought that in just a short time the table would flip and Nashville would be buying.

A lot can change when a team comes together and figures it out as the Predators have done. Now the team is 14 games over .500, three games over .500 at home, and 11 over on the road. They have moved from four points back to seven points ahead. As Nashville has played 68 games this season and have 14 remaining, their lead on team chasing them, schedule, and how the team is playing all factors into their chances at making the playoffs in 2024.

Moneypuck has accurate analysis and takes these factors and more into account when calculating the percent chance every team has at making the playoffs, getting out of the first round, etc. The Predators are up to a 97.1% chance at making the playoffs. After that, anything can happen. Nashville is projected to finish the season with 99 points and would just have to win nine of the final 14 games to reach that. That is very possible with how the team is rolling along and the point cut-off is typically around 94-95.
