Filip Forsberg can now add another accolade to what has already been a career year in his 12th season with the Nashville Predators .

With 12 goals and 23 points in his last 13 games, Forsberg was named the NHL's Third Star for the month of March . He joins Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid and Central Division rival Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon , who were named the league's First and Second Stars, respectively.

The Predators went 9-2-2 during March as part of a franchise-record 18-game point streak (16-0-2) that spanned from Feb. 17-March 26. Forsberg tied with Edmonton's Zach Hyman for second place in goals (12) and finished fifth in points (23) across 13 outings (12‑11—23) in March to help the Predators move into the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.

Forsberg found the scoresheet in all but one of his March appearances, ending the month on a nine-game point streak from March 10-30 (8 goals, 9 assists) that also included a franchise-record seven-game goal streak from March 13-28.

Forsberg scored in nine of his March contests, registered seven multi-point performances and tallied a trio of game-winning goals (March 7 vs. Buffalo, March 13 at Winnipeg and March 23 vs. Detroit ). He also record his franchise-record ninth career hat trick in the matchup with the Sabres – five more than any other player in Predators history – and reached the 40-goal milestone for the second time (March 26 vs. Vegas) – making him the first player in team history to do so.

In 74 total games this season, Forsberg has earned his place among the league leaders in game-winning goals (tied for second place with 10), shots on goal (fifth place with 304), goals (ninth place with 41) and points (13th place with 84).

Forsberg will look to extend his career-high point streak (9 goals, 8 assists) to 10 games and help the Predators get back in the win column Tuesday when Nashville hosts the Atlantic Division-leading Boston Bruins at Bridgestone Arena.
