Eric Church will open Nashville bar with 19-date Nashville residency

Eric Church has officially revealed an opening date for his bar in downtown Nashville and as expected, he’s found his own unique way to kick things off.

Church took to social media this week to reveal he’ll be playing a 19-show residency, To Beat The Devil , at his a new BBQ restaurant, bar and live music venue, Chief’s in Nashville, with the first show taking place April 5 — the establishment’s opening day.

“I have designed a one of a kind show that I’ll be performing at Chief’s starting on Grand Opening Day, April 5th,” Eric wrote. “Trust me, you don’t want to miss this one.”

The residency will take place various weekdays and weekends through April and May before wrapping with four back-to-back shows June 6-9, the same dates as CMA Fest which draws people to downtown Nashville from all over the world.

Church has made it clear his bar was made with his fans in mind and he plans to fully turn it over to them beginning April 5. “Believe me, this is not just another club downtown. This is our house,” Church told fans through comments to Rolling Stone surrounding the bar. “You’ve helped me build my career, brick by brick, and I want the whole world to know the building is yours.”

In addition to performing one-of-a-kind shows for the first two months it’s open, Church also dedicated an actual brick of the building to his Church Choir fan club in honor of their support throughout his career. “I’ve been involved in every step of restoring this historic building into a place we can call our own and, because you’ve been with me every step of my career, I’m proud to dedicate a physical brick of the Chief’s building to each and every one of you.”
