Nashville Software School Launches the Access Scholarship for Students

Nashville Software School (NSS) announces that it has launched The Access Scholarship, valued at $2,000, for all regular tuition students accepted into a part-time or full-time cohort of the Web Developer Bootcamp or Data Science Bootcamp with a start date between July 1st and November 4th in 2024.

NSS created the new scholarship to make starting a career in tech more affordable for students who want to invest in themselves and pursue a new career. Today’s economy has increased the challenges that prospective career changers are facing including inflation, student loan repayments, rising cost of child care and high interest rates.

“One of our founding goals is to reduce barriers to tech careers. For 12 years, we’ve done that through our Opportunity Tuition program,” says John Wark, Founder and CEO, Nashville Software School. “Now, thanks in part to gifts from alumni, community donors and local foundations, we’re able to extend that support further during these tough economic times through The Access Scholarship.”

Wark further noted that, “Even considering the difficult economy and the slower hiring environment for junior technical talent, job placements of our software development graduates were up approximately 50% in the first four months of this year over the same period last year. It’s still a good time to start a career in tech. Companies are hiring junior software developers from NSS who are job ready and have the skills to succeed.”

The eligible bootcamps for The Access Scholarship include the following:

• Full-time Web Developer Bootcamp beginning in July, September or November 2024
• Part-time Web Developer Bootcamp beginning in July or September 2024
• Data Science Bootcamp beginning in October 2024

Applicants do not need to apply for the scholarship. Students who are accepted into an eligible bootcamp and do not receive a different NSS scholarship will receive The Access Scholarship.
