Former Tennessee Vols guard Dalton Knecht was inadvertently involved in an awkward moment during the first night of the 2024 NBA Draft.

Knecht, who spent his final season of eligibility at Tennessee, wasn't actually on the broadcast when the moment happened.

During the broadcast, french basketball player Tidjane Salaun was introduced by ESPN. The graphic on the broadcast, as well as announcer in the arena, introduced Salaun as Dalton Knecht.

Salaun immediately looked confused when he heard Knecht's name.

Not exactly a smooth moment for the ESPN broadcast.

Salaun ended up being selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the No. 6 overall selection in the first round. One of his new teammates in Charlotte is former Tennessee forward Grant Williams.

Knecht, surprisingly, wasn't a lottery pick.

    Update:

Knecht was selected with the No. 17 overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers.
