Dreams really do come true. Jelly Roll has made an impact in many people's lives with his inspiring story from convict to country star. His music has helped many fans get through tough times, and now Jelly himself is making sure he plays an important role in one of his biggest fan's life by helping her through college. As the story goes, Antioch, Tennessee resident Joy Gadalla stood in line for five hours waiting for a free show Jelly Roll did at the SkyDeck in downtown Nashville, just off of Broadway. The rapper-turned-country-artist is one of her favorites, and she felt as though the concert would be a good escape with some other things she's dealt with recently in her life. While she was there, she told
WKRN that she went ahead and asked the "Need A Favor" singer for a favor of her own: "I took like a black picture (on my phone) and then wrote, ‘Please pay my tuition,’ and just held it up." Jelly Roll apparently noticed the message after the conclusion of his first song in his setlist, and he addressed the fan directly while up on stage, saying: "I’m going to give you the opportunity to change your life right here on this date. I'm gonna send somebody out from my team to get you. We're gonna talk about what college you go to and what your GPA is, and if all that checks out we will help you get through school... That's my word to you. Because I'll tell you what, I don't have nobody to pay for my college so I didn't go."
The fan's point of view of the incredible moment can be viewed in the TikTok below: How about that? As it turns out, Jelly Roll's story and music has personally helped Gadalla turn her life around. She told WKRN that she's now a year and seven months sober, and just finished up high school, which she completed online (since seventh grade) because she was a victim of bullying. She had a dream to go to Belmont, a university in Nashville, to pursue a career as a criminal justice lawyer, but she simply could not figure out how that could be possible financially. So, the day before the concert, she prayed about her situation: "I was crying. I was stressing. I took a moment to breathe and pray and I knew that everything was going to be okay. I knew that God was going to take care of everything." God answered that prayer pretty fast, as it now appears that Gadalla will be a recipient of the "Jelly Roll Scholarship" (I just made that name up, but that's basically what's happening). It's unclear how much help Gadalla will get with her tuition, but Jelly Roll's management has reportedly stayed in touch and he's following through on his promise.

@ky_mom_79 Not my usual content…but have to share this! Someone held a sign that said “will you pay for my college tuition?” And @Jelly Roll did. 🥹. So many artists could do similar things. Lives could be changed so quickly.
