Stefan Parsons had some choice words for Layne Riggs after feeling like the the latter junked him during the Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville Superspeedway.

During the NASCAR Truck Series race on Friday evening, Parsons and Riggs got into each other multiple times on the track. Multiple laps of battling with one another. So, Riggs gave him a bump and sent Parsons around. Then, NASCAR penalized him for two laps.

Evidently, that wasn’t enough of a penalty for Parsons, as he spoke with FOX’s Bob Pockrass after the event, regarding his feelings for Riggs.

“I mean, I knew he was going to be upset, but the reason he’s upset, in my view, is because of what he did,” Parson said, regarding Riggs’ emotions. “You know, I tried to move up when I got to him. We were faster than him. I tried to move up to the third lane. I was too loose to make that work, so I had to try to out-wrap him on the bottom, and we would go down to the corner even, and it felt like he was just running down on my door every time. I don’t know if he was upset he was getting passed, I really don’t know. But it’s unfortunate, because our No. 75 truck, I felt like, was really good. I felt like, we should’ve easily had a top ten tonight.

“You know, we fired off okay, and then Chris made some really good adjustments there in the second stage, and we got up there into the top ten. I felt like we were about to have a good night. It’s unfortunate that that derailed that, and then, I mean, look, I knew he was going to be upset, but I don’t care how upset you are, there’s no excuse to just absolutely junk somebody, especially a place as fast as this. I don’t see any world in which that’s okay. So it’s unfortunate. Not the night we wanted. But we’ll regroup. We have a small group here at Henderson Motorsports, but a really strong group. Really proud of all my guys, and we’ll go get them at the next one.”

As for NASCAR penalizing Riggs by holding him for two laps, Parsons was happy NASCAR at least did something about the matter, but it doesn’t change what happened to him.

“I mean, at least they did something, because I mean, he picked my rear tires up in the middle of the back straightaway and never let me go until I was backed into the fence. So I’m glad they did something,” Parsons added. “I hope they look at it this week, and you know, whether there’s anything further, that’s up to them, but there’s just no excuse to intentionally wreck somebody like that.”

More on Stefan Parsons, Layne Riggs

As you can tell, the Rackley Roofing 200 brought out the emotions in Layne Riggs and Stefan Parsons. It’s safe to say, they do not agree with each other. These two NASCAR drivers had an argument on pit road, but didn’t leave seeing eye-to-eye.

Parsons felt like he had to go speak to Riggs after the race, and it didn’t exactly look like it ended up solving their issues with one another. Check out the video below from Devin Kupka

Alas, it’s all very interesting to see how Parsons approached the situation. He apparently didn’t mean to make contact with Riggs all those times, but he was fighting an ill-handling truck. Riggs doesn’t seem to buy it all that much.

In the end, both of these wheelmen are looking to run well each week. They are young and looking for more opportunities, Parsons in particular. This incident between the two is probably two drivers getting into it a bit too much. Not sure we need to see or will see more from this rivalry.
