Bubba Wallace clawed his way through the field during overtime in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway, earning a seventh-place finish. However, Wallace immediately knew it wasn’t good enough, as Joey Logano won the Ally 400 . It meant another driver near the playoff cut-line won a race, making the 23XI Racing driver’s job more difficult.

Wallace leaves Nashville as the first driver out of the playoff picture, but he is 51 points behind Alex Bowman. With seven races left in the regular season, it’s not a true must-win situation for the driver of the No. 23 car. Yet, Wallace needs to find a way to victory lane. With one more winner below the cut-line, Wallace will become the second driver out of the playoff picture.

The 23XI Racing driver is in a very tough spot. On the one hand, a win can solve everything and make the points discussions irreverent. On the other, Wallace can still point his way in if he has a very strong stretch of seven races. It is a really tough spot for the No. 23 team. Wallace can make it disappear with a victory, but the No. 23 car needs to be upfront more often.

Bubba Wallace 'expected' to return to 23XI Racing for 2025 NASCAR season
