The Nashville Predators made a couple of big additions up front by signing Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault, so that led to the team moving away from Jason Zucker to sign elsewhere. He came to an agreement with the Buffalo Sabres on a one-year deal at $5 million AAV.

This is the second one-year deal for Zucker who did well for the Predators after being acquired by the team at the trade deadline from the then Arizona Coyotes. Zucker proved to be effective in the playoffs as well.

Zucker goes to Buffalo as the oldest forward and player on the team by a whole three years, emphasizing how much the Sabres needed a veteran on the team. He scored 14 goals and 32 points in 69 games before scoring one goal and three points in six games in the playoffs.

Zucker should slot in on the third third line and if he stays healthy, he has the ability to produce at a good rate for a bottom-6 forward at this point in his career. He is a six-time 20-goal scorer and plays a physical game. The Predators have more than enough talent to replace Zucker in the lineup and the Sabres made a solid addition here.
