The Nashville Predators kicked off their major day by signing 2023 Conn Smythe winner Jonathan Marchessult to a five-year, $5.5 million AAV deal.

The Predators now have multiple Conn Smythe winners on their team as Marchessault joins Ryan O'Reilly. As a team going from a playoff team to contender, they have done a great job adding 'serial winners'.

Marchessault set a career high in goals last season with 42 and finished the 2023-24 season with 69 points in 82 games. The Predators needed goal-scorers and the 33-year-old is the right signing to make that happen.

Marchessault has scored 22 or more goals in seven of the past eight seasons and has 230 goals and 487 points in his career through 638 games. He should play on the right wing in the top-6, whether that be on the second line or on the top line should the Predators decide they will break up the top line of Filip Forsberg, O'Reilly, and Gustav Nyquist.

Marchessault isn't getting any younger and the talented veteran will make a big impact for the Predators as they are in the realm of Stanley Cup contenders at the start of free agency.
