Germantown restaurant makes list of best pizza places in U.S.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One Germantown restaurant has some of the best pizza in America, according to a new ranking.

The New York Times recently published a list naming the top 22 pizza places in the U.S. Among them, Nashville’s very own City House made the cut.

“The restaurant, opened by the chef Tandy Wilson in 2007, helped trailblaze the pizzeria-as-Italian-American-trattoria,” contributor Brett Anderson said of the restaurant. “At the same time, it showed how well Southern ingredients and recipes take to Italian cuisine.”

Chef Tandy Wilson , who operates City House, is a Nashville native. Wilson was nominated for a James Beard award three times, was a semifinalist four times, and won best chef in 2016.
