After conducting a series of interviews, police said they learned that the incident began after a male and female were asked to leave an apartment.

The victim allegedly told officers that he took the male’s gun, which was on a table, after he refused to leave and walked to the breezeway with it.

According to the victim, the male followed him in the breezeway and told him that he would leave if he got his gun back.

Officials said the victim ejected the magazine before handing the gun back to the suspect. That’s when the suspect reportedly pointed the gun toward the victim’s foot, fired a single round and then pistol-whipped him.
