Stray storm Friday PM, less humid this weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Fourth of July was the third warmest on record for Nashville with a high of 99°. Now, the heat is fueling storms for Friday, followed by slightly less humid air for the weekend.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect today for Franklin, Lincoln, & Moore counties until 7 PM Friday. It is important to stay well hydrated, take frequent breaks inside, and check on the children, elderly, and pets.

A Marginal Risk (Category 1 of 5) technically continues for the Cumberland Plateau region of Middle Tennessee, but we expect the storm chance for the rest of today to be isolated.

Friday

Isolated storms this afternoon with the cold front, then clearing out later this evening. Afternoon temperatures will top out in the upper 80s to lower 90s.

Less humid air will follow for the weekend with highs in the 80s and lower 90s. Next week, storms and more humidity will return.
