Tennessee Titans quarterback Malik Willis is making the most of his offseason preparation efforts ahead of the 2024 season, recently seen putting in time with quarterback guru Sean McEvoy.

McEvoy is the same trainer the former Auburn and Liberty passer has worked with for the past several years, dating back to his high school days in Georgia.

He's been heavily involved in Willis' development process at all stages of his career, including arguably the most important phase, which is the pre-draft process.

“I think it’s part of the development process and getting the reps at it and understanding what kind of trajectory he needs on different plays based on the route concepts,” McEvoy said when we spoke with him ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft.

“I think early on in his career, he got some coaching on the deep ball to add more air under it to give receivers more time to get under it… he’s got a unique amount of arm strength that allows him to be more aggressive on the deep ball and I think sometimes he’s at his best when he does keep a lower trajectory on it and drive it.”

Where the Titans currently are at quarterback with Will Levis and with Mason Rudolph also in the fold, future looks uncertain for Willis at this point. Many predict he'll be taking his services elsewhere via a trade sooner rather than later.

Despite the fact he has appeared 11 games over two seasons, Willis has yet to throw a touchdown pass. In that same stretch of time, Willis has completed 35 of his 66 passing attempts for 350 yards and 3 interceptions. He has al;so carried the ball 32 times for 144 yards and one rushing score.

How things play out for Willis and if he can maintain a backup job in Tennessee or elsewhere will be something to keep an eye on.
