Tennessee star second baseman Christian Moore took to Instagram on Friday to say goodbye to his teammates, coaches and the Tennessee fanbase following a three-year career in the Orange & White that ended with a national championship in June.

“I don’t really know where to begin. These last 3 years have changed my life. Thank you to this amazing coaching staff for believing in me, taking a chance on a kid that should have never been in this situation,” Moore began. “Trusting me to lead a team and allowing me to be me. I will forever be grateful for all the long talks, countless hours of work and most important the memories shared!”

Moore, the Triple Crown award winner for Southeastern Conference play, was one of college baseball’s best players in 2024, scorching the baseball for 34 home runs and 74 runs batted in from the leadoff spot. His .375 batting average was four ticks lower than teammate Blake Burke , who led the squad.

“To my teammates…ya’ll have seen me grow up a lot these last few years. Thank you all for taking me under your wing, allowing me to grow up and mature,” the second baseman continued. “Without you all, I am not the player I am today. Always remember Chuck T “hang out type.” Love ya’ll boys, thank you for the memories and moments it will heavily be missed.”

Moore also recorded just the second cycle ever in a College World Series game against Florida State on June 14, but it was his fifth hit of the day that was most important – a double where he turned around to score the game-tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning on Burke’s two-run single.

“Vol nation, you guys are unbelievable. Talking for the rest of the team, you guys were the heartbeat of this thing,” the infielder concluded. “Thank you for always being there for us, cheering us on through the good and the bad. We are forever thankful for you all and I will miss you guys! GBO Forever!”

The junior is an expected first round pick in July’s Major league Baseball Draft. Moore has hauled in three first-team All-American accolades thus far and two more second-team honors. He was also named to the All-Southeastern Conference Team at second base.

Moore finished his Tennessee career as the program-record holder with 61 home runs and 34 in a single season.
