    How do you vote early in Middle Tennessee?

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — For some parts of Middle Tennessee, early voting begins in mid-July.

    The Department of State provides a searchable map of county election commissions. From there, voters can click on their county and navigate to the election commission homepage to view their early election calendar and open polling locations.

    Voters are encouraged to install the GoVoteTN mobile app. The Secretary of State’s website advertises the app as the easiest way for voters to find polling locations and hours, view and mark sample ballots, access online election results and more.

    For Metro Nashville , early voting locations open on Friday, July 12 and will stay open through July 27. All locations will open starting at 8 a.m. each day, but closure times are determined by the day of the week.

    Metro Nashville Early Voting locations include:

    • Bellevue Library
    • Bordeaux Library
    • Casa Azafrán Community Center
    • Edmondson Pike Library
    • Goodlettsville Library
    • Green Hills Library
    • Hermitage Library
    • Hillwood High School
    • Madison Library
    • Metro Office Building
    • South Inglewood Community Center
    • Southeast Library

    Tennessee law requires a federal or Tennessee state ID with a photo at the polls. Valid forms of ID include a state or federal photo ID, driver’s license, passport, US military ID, a handgun carry permit.

    College student IDs and IDs issued by cities or counties will not be accepted at the polls.

    First-time voters must also present either a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document showing the voter’s name and most recent address.
