NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The new Titans stadium is slowly taking form, with construction benchmarks already reached in the early-goings of development.

It’s been less than five months since the ground was broken on the $2 billion sports venue, being built directly adjacent to the current Nissan Stadium, but you probably couldn’t tell that by the way things are moving.

Excavation of the site is halfway done, and about 30% of columns have already gone in, according to officials with the Tennessee Titans. This puts the stadium well on track to open by its targeted year of 2027. In fact, one Titans official said during the last Nashville Sports Authority Meeting in June that construction was “potentially ahead of where it was expected.”

There’s still plenty of development anticipated for the remainder of 2024. The Titans shared these construction updates with News 2 on Monday:

    • Pacing along with timeline very well
    • 70% through the site-build
    • Vertical structures, like columns, are beginning to emerge
    • The first slab of concrete will be poured by the end of July
    • By the end of the year, the super structure will start to take shape and the community will be able to see the stadium footprint.

The Sports Authority will meet next on Thursday, July 18 at Bridgestone Arena.
