    ‘Please Come To Boston’ singer David Loggins dead at 76

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — Grammy-nominated Hall of Fame singer and songwriter David Loggins died on Wednesday at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

    Originally born in Shady Valley, Loggins started his life in Bristol, Tennessee, and later moved to Nashville, according to his obituary .

    Loggins wrote five decades’ worth of hit songs for various artists, including Johnny Cash, Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, Reba McEntire and more.

    Loggins holds the record for being the only unsigned artist to ever win a CMA award for his performance with Anne Murray in 1986 for their duet, “Nobody Loves Me Like You Do,” the obituary stated.

    Best known for the hit song “Please Come to Boston,” Loggins also wrote the song “Augusta,” which is the longest-running sports theme in history for the Augusta Masters Golf Tournament.

    There will be no funeral, per Loggins’ request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Hospice in Nashville.

    Loggins is survived by three sons and a grandson. He was 76 years old.
