    Most stressed areas in America: Where do these Tennessee cities rank?

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tennesseans are stressed, and a new report proves it.

    According to Wallethub , high inflation, spiking homicide rates, and family stress are just a few reasons why some residents are stressed out.

    The personal finance company recently compared 182 cities across the U.S. to determine where residents were the most and least stressed. Stress levels were measured across four key factors: 1.) Work Stress, 2.) Financial Stress, 3.) Family Stress, and 4), Health & Safety Stress.

    In fact, the report found that those who reside in Memphis may be more stressed than others. WalletHub ranked Memphis as the fourth most stressed city in the nation.

    The report found that the main stressors for Memphians are financial-related. WalletHub said median household income, share of households behind on bills, and foreclosure rates are just a few metrics that were weighed in determining financial stressors.

    Memphis is not the only city in the Volunteer State stressing out. Overall, four major metropolitan areas in Tennessee made the list, with Knoxville at No.57; Chattanooga at No.91; and Nashville at No. 101.

    Out of all the Tennessee cities on the list, Nashville ranked highest in work-related stress, while Chattanooga ranked the lowest.

    4. Memphis, TN
    5. Philadelphia, PA

    According to Wallethub, those looking to experience a less stressful life should consider moving to Fremont, California; South Burlington, Vermont; or Fargo, North Dakota, as they ranked the lowest on the list.
