OBITUARY: Elizabeth ‘Jeanne’ Collins

Elizabeth “Jeanne” Collins, age 73, a resident of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at NHC Healthcare Columbia.
Born on August 19, 1950, in Columbia, Tennessee Jeanne was the daughter of the late Leon Collins and the late Eva Beckum Collins Coffey.
Jeanne pursued her education with dedication, attending Columbia State Community College and Middle Tennessee State University, where she proudly earned her Bachelor’s degree. Her commitment to learning and personal growth was evident throughout her life.
A true sports enthusiast, Jeanne had an unwavering passion for all sports, with a special affection for Vanderbilt women’s basketball, men’s basketball, baseball, and football. She was also a devoted fan of the Tennessee Titans and the Atlanta Braves.
In addition to her love for sports, Jeanne found joy in reading, solving crossword puzzles, assembling jigsaw puzzles, and cooking. Jeanne’s beloved pets, Lexi and Kelsey, were a constant source of joy and unconditional love.
Jeanne is survived by her sisters, Deborah L. Collins of Columbia and Cherry Edmiston of Columbia; niece, Stacey Hurst of Ethridge; great-nephews, Branson Edmiston and Will Luckey; great-niece, Elizabeth Luckey; and special friend, Linda Jenkins.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Michael Dorris officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in West Point Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Dennis, Phil Estes, Dale Hardy, Kevin Harris, Branson Edmiston, and Will Luckey. Honorary pallbearers will include David Wiley and Karen Walters.
