I love throwing parties so turned my passion into a £15k-a-month side hustle – here’s how

A WOMAN has revealed how she turned her passion for throwing parties into a £15,000 a month side hustle.

Mallory Strange had a business brainwave after a friend asked her to help set up for her sister's hen party.

The friend said that she would have hired someone to help her, but couldn't find the right person for the job.

Mallory was happy to help as she loves planning parties, and after realising that their weren't any hen party planning services in her home of Nashville, decided to set up her own business.

Thus, Bach Babes was born.

The business initially struggled to find clients, but thanks to her marketing background Mallory knew that the best way to gain visibility was to keep making and posting social media content.

After one of her videos went viral, Mallory was sent hundreds of inquiries, and quickly had to sort out packages and pricing.

In the first stages of her business, Mallory charged just £115 for an entire party, but now prices range from £300 for a small party, to £1500 for a VIP experience.

Speaking to CBNC, Mallory said: "What I'm really selling is convenience.

"I'm offering a luxury service, but I'm also not stealing people's money for something that they obviously can do for themselves.



"It's the convenience factor of we're able to do it for you."

As Mallory's business continued to grow, she began working with some of the most popular bars and restaurants in Nashville, and has even been contacted by celebrities.

"It's just like every single week something crazy happens, our growth is so exponential."

Mallory's business now makes £15,000 a month, and she decided to quit her social media job and focus on her side hustle full time after she was able to pay herself as much as she was earning in her previous job.

The side-hustler has hired interns and three part time decorators to help her out, and is now being booked for other events too.

She said: "As I continued growing, people would reach out and say, 'Hey, will you do a twenty-first birthday party? Will you do a bachelor party?'"

Side hustles in numbers

Based on new research from Finder, an estimated 22.8 million Brits are using side hustles to top up their income.

Among those aged 18-23, 68 percent have a side hustle in 2024.

Those aged 24-42 aren’t far behind, with 65 per cent having an additional source of income.

Side hustles are less popular among older generations, with 40 percent of those aged 43-54 having one.

Whereas 23 percent of people aged 55-73 and just 7 per cent of those aged 74 and over are earning extra cash this way.

And Mallory has plans to expand her business, to cities across the US, as her success continues.

She said: "The best part is definitely just seeing this thing that was in my brain for a little bit flourish.

"People dream of their wedding and their bachelorette since they're a little girl, so we're getting to give people the experience of their dreams.

She continued: "I get to meet a lot of these groups and they are so thankful their faces just light up when they see what we've made and what we've done for them."
