On July 17, Post Malone played a one night only show in Nashville, put on by Bud Light, his official tour sponsor. At Marathon Music Works, he brought out HARDY to debut their new collaboration, titled “Would You Hide My Gun,” as well as some other special guests to give fans a sneak peek at what he’s been working on.

“Would You Hide My Gun” isn’t the first time Post Malone has worked with HARDY. He made his country music debut with HARDY’s Hixtape Vol. 3 and a cover of Joe Diffie’s “Pickup Man.” Since then, he’s been heavily involved in the country music world, collaborating with artists like Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, and Chris Stapleton.

In addition to HARDY, Posty brought out Sierra Ferrell, Joe Nichols, and Blake Shelton. He played his recent work with Shelton, “Pour Me A Drink,” as well as a solo version of his Wallen single “I Had Some Help.” Posty also performed some of his own solo work like “Congratulations” and “Sunflower,” which took on a unique, unplugged vibe while backed by his band, The Fools For You.

Sierra Ferrell in particular impressed the crowd of Post Malone’s fans at the “One Night In Nashville” showcase. According to a report from The Tennessean, Ferrell and Post Malone did a duet of his currently unreleased song “Never Love You Again,” then launched into “Jackson” by Johnny Cash, most famously performed with his wife June Carter Cash.

Post Malone is likely to succeed in country music not only because of his hit songs and collaborations, but because he seems to have genuine appreciation for the genre and respect for those who have been in it for decades. Around artists like Joe Nichols and Blake Shelton, Posty got starry eyed as if he was in the presence of his heroes. Even among contemporaries like HARDY, he clearly appreciates the fellow artists around him.

Post Malone’s new country album, F-1 Trillion, comes out on August 16, and he will embark on a tour starting in September.
