While Clarkson and Jolie moved to New York City, the 48-year-old actress decided that Nashville, Tennessee would be the ideal spot for her post-divorce life from Jim Toth.

It’s been refreshing for Witherspoon to get out of Los Angeles for a while. “Reese has always said she’s a total Southern girl, so returning to her roots was a dream,” a source told Life & Style . “She lives a really normal life in Nashville.” She’s reportedly been exploring the “Southern cuisine” and the “new restaurants” that are popping up in the area. It’s also allowed her to reconnect with friends and family who still live in the area. The Morning Show star was even able to attend her niece Abby ‘s high school graduation from her alma mater, Harpeth Hall.

“Reese also has a bunch of great girlfriends who live nearby,” the insider added. “She loves to be able to go out with them or run without being photographed like in L.A.” Her social life also reportedly includes a bit of “romance” — no one special yet — but she’s “open to dating and has been set up by friends.” There were rumors last November that she was dating newly divorced Kevin Costner, but her representative made sure to clear the air on that one. “This story is completely fabricated and not true,” her publicist told Page Six.

Witherspoon’s name also resurfaced in May when the unverified gossip site, DeuxMoi, alleged that she was dating a mystery man from New York. The outlet described him as “tall and lean… brown hair starting to turn grey” and might be “a private equity guy at APAX.” However, after a few sightings , that love match seems to have fizzled out, or they are keeping it far below the radar. Whatever path she’s taking, Witherspoon deserves happiness.

She told Harper’s Bazaar in July 2023 that she was at a “ vulnerable time ” in her life, and she was looking forward to being her “most honest, forthright self.” That’s why Nashville might be the perfect place for a reset, it’s the city where she first planted roots — and now she’s ready to blossom again.
