The Tennessee Vols officially have all the bulletin board material they need for the 2024 season.

On Friday, it was revealed that the media at SEC Media Days picked Tennessee to finished No. 7 in the SEC in 2024, which is the first year that the conference has 16 teams.

Here are their entire predictions for the upcoming season.

    1. Georgia
    2. Texas
    3. Alabama
    4. Ole Miss
    5. LSU
    6. Missouri
    7. Tennessee
    8. Oklahoma
    9. Texas A&M
    10. Auburn
    11. Kentucky
    12. Florida
    13. South Carolina
    14. Arkansas
    15. Mississippi State
    16. Vanderbilt

Tennessee made it clear this week at SEC Media Days that they plan to compete for a national championship in 2024.

As head coach Josh Heupel put it, the standard on Rocky Top is championships.

"The standard at Tennessee is to win championships," said Heupel . "We’re in a race to get there as fast as we can."

Vols senior defensive lineman Omari Thomas echoed those sentiments.

"Obviously, our team, we don't need validation from anyone," said Thomas. "We don't look for validation from anyone. It's just good to know that we come here together, we got each other's back, we're going to be the ones to push ourselves to get to where we want to go and that's to win a national championship ."

Heupel has said numerous times over the last couple of years that it's not possible to ignore the outside noise, so there's no doubt that Tennessee will be aware of where they're predicted to finish in the SEC. And it should be plastered all over their facility as a reminder of the doubt that exists in the media when it comes to the Vols' ability to compete for a championship in 2024.

Bulletin board material doesn't win championships, but it can certainly provide motivation when the grind of the season hits. The Vols would love nothing more than to prove the doubters wrong. And they'll have a perfect opportunity to do just that in 2024 as they take the field with what Heupel's called his deepest team yet at Tennessee.
