    How many other Nashvilles are in the US?

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — While most people think of Tennessee when they hear about Nashville, Music City isn’t the only town with the Nashville name.

    There are more than a dozen other Nashvilles in the country, including small cities, tiny towns, and unincorporated areas. Here are the other Nashvilles in the United States.

    Arkansas

    The city is located in Howard County, in the southwest portion of the state. Nashville is the Howard County seat and has a little more than 4,000 residents, according to the 2020 Census.

    California

    Over on the West Coast, an unincorporated community in El Dorado County is home to Nashville, California.

    Georgia

    Nicknamed the “City of Dogwoods,” Nashville, Georgia , boasts a population of 4,697 people and is the county seat of Berrien County. According to its city website, the city “provides the amenities of a small town, while maintaining charm and atmosphere of the old south.”

    Illinois

    Northwest of Tennessee, Nashville, Illinois, is a city in Washington County. Per 2020 Census data, the city had a population of slightly over 3,000. The city recently made headlines when residents near a dam were told to evacuate after receiving historic rainfall.

    Indiana

    The Town of Nashville is located in Washington Township, Indiana, in Brown County. It is the county seat of Brown County and had a population of 1,256 in the 2020 Census.

    Iowa

    Another unincorporated area, Nashville, Iowa, is located in Jackson County. It is located on the eastern side of the state.

    Kansas

    One of the smallest cities also named Nashville had a population of 54 as of the 2020 Census. It was founded in the 19th century and named for Music City.

    Michigan

    Nashville, Michigan, is a village in Barry County. It is located in the southwest portion of the mitten of Michigan and had a population of 1,537 at the 2020 Census.

    Missouri

    The unincorporated community of Nashville, Missouri, is located in Barton County, in the southwest portion of the state. It had an estimated population of 396 in the 2000 Census.

    Nebraska

    Another unincorporated community, Nashville, Nebraska, is located in Washington County. It lies along the eastern border of the state, just north of Omaha and south of Fort Calhoun.

    New York

    Two different towns in New York have “hamlets” named Nashville: Hanover in Chautauqua County and Wheatfield in Niagra County. These hamlets are smaller settlements in rural areas within each town.

    North Carolina

    Nashville, North Carolina, is the oldest Nashville in America. Founded in 1777, it was first referred to as Nash Court House by Peach Tree Creek for its county courthouse. The first reference of the town as Nashville occurred in 1780, according to the city . The town motto is “The original town of Nashville.”

    Ohio

    In central Ohio, Nashville is a village in Holmes County. As of the 2020 Census, Nashville, Ohio, had a population of 183.

    Oregon

    Nashville, Oregon, is another unincorporated community. Located near the western border of the state, the Lincoln County community was founded in the late 19th century.

    Texas

    Nashville, Texas, is now a ghost town—an abandoned city—located along the Brazos River in Milam County. According to the Texas State Historical Association , the city was also called Nashville-On-The-Brazos and founded by a Nashville, Tennessee, native named Sterling C. Robertson in 1835. He named the settlement after his birthplace. The town was once considered as a potential capital city for the state immediately following the Texas Revolution.

    Wisconsin

    Nashville, Wisconsin, is a town located in Forest County in the northern part of the state. The 2020 Census lists the population as 1,215. It is also home to the Sokaogon Chippewa Community.
