Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan announced Tuesday that offensive lineman Nicholas Petit-Frere will start training camp on the physically unable to perform list.

The PUP list designates players with football-related injuries. Players on the list are not eligible to practice, but can participate in team activities.

Callahan added that Petit-Frere's designation is due to a cleanup procedure related to a knee injury.

"His (status) is not related to his shoulder, his shoulder has been cleared," Callahan said. "He had a cleanup surgery (on his knee) in the offseason."

Petit-Frere suffered a shoulder injury on Nov. 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He did not play again, and finished the season having played in only three games.

Callahan said Petit-Frere "should be good in a few days' time."

Players can be removed from the PUP list at any time, but cannot be placed on the PUP list a second time.

Petit-Frere is one of the candidates for the Titans' starting right tackle position, along with second-year player Jaelyn Duncan .

Petit-Frere has started 18 games for the Titans since being selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Last season, he was suspended six games by the NFL for violating the league's gambling policy.
