NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities have launched an investigation into a South Nashville shooting that left a juvenile injured Saturday night. This news comes after two other shootings were reported earlier in the day in that section of the city, including one that happened less than a mile away from the latest incident.

According to Metro Nashville dispatch, the shooting was called in shortly before 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 27 from the 200 block of Tampa Drive.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said officers from the South Precinct responded to Harding Glen Condos for a report of a minor being grazed by a bullet inside her home.

When authorities arrived on scene, they said they found the juvenile with a non-life-threatening injury, but her parents refused transportation to the hospital by the Nashville Fire Department.

According to officials, the minor was sitting at the dinner table with her parents when a bullet came through the roof of the building, through the ceiling and floor of the unit above, through the ceiling of the victim’s unit, hit the floor, ricocheted, and grazed the juvenile’s right cheek.

Police said they were able to see the holes from the bullet’s path and found the projectile inside the unit.

Authorities have not shared any description of the suspect(s) or additional details about the incident at this time.

WATCH: Man found with multiple gunshot wounds in South Nashville

This marks the third shooting of the day in South Nashville.

During the early morning hours on Saturday, MNPD said a witness flagged down a patrol officer who was performing a traffic stop at the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Philfre Court about a shooting. Police found the victim — who had two gunshot wounds to the abdomen and one to the arm — along with shell casings nearby.

The suspect reportedly ran into the woods off Philfre Court, so a K9 unit responded to track the suspect down, but the effort was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries, according to officials.

Then, authorities said they were called to Whispering Oaks Apartments in the 100 block of Tanglewood Court at approximately 7:50 a.m. because a resident spotted a crashed car with a shooting victim dead behind the wheel at Whispering Oaks Apartments, which is about half a mile away from Harding Glen Condos.

Police said 41-year-old Marcus D. Martin was returning to his girlfriend’s apartment before sunrise when shots were fired into the Nissan Altima sedan he was driving. The car hit a tree and came to rest in the driveway of the parking lot.

Officials have not released any information indicating these three South Nashville shootings are related.
