Nashville's own Gretchen Walsh won the silver medal in the 100-meter butterfly at the Olympics on Sunday. She was only .04 seconds behind the winner.

The big picture: Walsh's U.S. teammate Torri Huske edged just ahead of her, securing the gold.

    • Walsh set the world record for the 100-meter butterfly last month during the U.S. Olympic swimming trials. She set the Olympic record on Saturday during the event semifinals.

State of play: Walsh, who is a Harpeth Hall graduate, also won silver with the U.S. 4x100-meter freestyle relay team on Saturday.
