Recently, Hawaiian native Ron Artis II and his family band traveled to Nashville’s Analog at the Hutton Hotel for an electrifying concert. During the performance, Artis invited Lukas Nelson to the stage to help close the show. He joined them for “Before You Go.”

Artis shared the moving video on social media yesterday (July 28). The clip shows him, his wife, and their children onstage with a group of musicians. Nelson steps up to the mic to sing lead on the song, showing that he’s more than a country singer. Nelson can bend his golden voice to whatever genre he puts his mind to.

“These moments,” Artis wrote in the caption. “Honored to have Lukas Nelson sit in,” he added. “It’s become a tradition to end our concerts with this song. ‘Before You Go’ is meant to be a reminder that we’re all ‘Made of Love,’ he explained.

“If you want to change the world, get to know your neighbor. Learn to love someone you disagree with. Love is more powerful than you could even imagine,” Artis wrote to conclude the post.

Lukas Nelson Is No Stranger to Covers

Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real have a deep catalog of original music. However, he is no stranger to performing covers. For instance, he regularly joins his dad, Willie Nelson, to perform classic songs. Additionally, when Willie was under the weather and needed to step away from the most recent Outlaw Music Festival tour, Lukas stepped up to take his place, performing many of his dad’s songs including “Funny How Time Slips Away,” “Nightlife,” and “Crazy” among others.

However, the younger Nelson doesn’t just cover his father’s music. He can nail a wide range of styles as evidenced in the video above. For instance, he recorded himself playing a solo acoustic cover of the Simon & Garfunkel classic “The Sound of Silence” from their album Wednesday Morning 3 A.M. Nelson nailed the ‘60s hit.
