Former Vanderbilt baseball pitcher Patrick Reilly will join former teammates Enrique Bradfield Jr. and Carter Young in the Orioles' minor-league system.

Reilly was a fifth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2023 after putting up a 5.25 ERA across 49 games and 14 starts with the Commodores from 2021-23. Reilly struck out 187 batters in 144 innings but also walked 93.

With the High-A Greensboro Grasshoppers this season, Reilly had a 3.38 ERA in 19 starts with 108 strikeouts and 41 walks in 88 innings. He was traded for fellow minor league prospect Billy Cook.

Reilly will likely play on the same team in the Orioles system as Bradfield and Young, who are both with the High-A Aberdeen IronBirds. Bradfield is hitting .281 with 12 doubles, three home runs and 50 stolen bases. Young is hitting .207 with 11 doubles, five home runs and 14 stolen bases. Bradfield was a first-round pick of the Orioles in the 2023 MLB draft and Young was a 17th-round pick in 2022.

During the 2024 MLB trade deadline, Reilly's former teammate RJ Schreck was also traded from the Mariners to the Blue Jays.
