NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 21-year-old man was arrested for gun and vehicle theft Tuesday after Metro police tracked his movements for nearly two weeks while working to connect him to similar crimes.

According to court documents, Metro police sought an order to place a tracking device on Derryon Lyons’ white Kia Spectra on July 11.

On Tuesday, July 23, Lyons was reportedly tracked to a parking lot on County Hospital Road where a loaded Glock handgun was stolen from a vehicle. Metro police reported the vehicle was broken into between 2:04 p.m. and 2:08 p.m., which corresponds to the time Lyons’ vehicle tracker showed him in the parking lot.

On Monday, July 29, Lyons is accused of breaking into several vehicles and stealing a Jeep from an underground parking lot on Third Avenue South.

Lyons was booked into the Metro jail and charged with theft of a firearm, theft of property more than $10,000 but less than $60,000 and four counts of vehicle burglary. His bond was set at $95,000.
