Emory Davis, 56, was reportedly stopped by officers on Middleton Street. According to a press release from the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), once officers ran the license plate to his red Chevrolet Camaro, they saw Davis had eight outstanding warrants.

Officers then approached Davis, though he initially refused to give his name and tried to run. MNPD said he was quickly taken into custody. A search of Davis’ vehicle yielded multiple crack pipes, marijuana and syringes.
Davis had a criminal history dating back to the late 1990s and early 2000s, when he was convicted of aggravated robbery as well as multiple theft and drug charges. Court records showed he spent several years in jail.
Many of his outstanding warrants for violent offenses like assault. One of those warrants was related to an aggravated assault on July 14 involving two convenience store clerks on Jenkins Street. Authorities said Davis produced a handgun, threatened the clerks’ lives and slashed their tires as he left.
