NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has asked for the public’s help identifying a suspect from a 4th of July shooting.

One witness said that two people gathered at 1:30 a.m. in a parking lot at the Covenant Crossing complex in the 100 block of Thompson Lane on July 4. An argument reportedly broke out, turning physical, before a suspect pulled out a gun and fired into the air.

A 19-year-old ran to his vehicle after the shots, but as the suspect got into another car, he fired into the teen’s vehicle and struck the teen at least twice. The teen sustained serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

“The suspect is a Hispanic man who appears to be in his late 20s or early 30s,” MNPD said. “He is approximately 5’7” tall with a medium build. He fled in a 2002 Ford Focus with a sanded paint job. The car’s rear back window appears to have been taped up.”
