    Madison family displaced after house fire

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A family was displaced after a fire damaged their home in Madison early Friday morning.

    The fire happened just after 1 a.m. in the 600 block of Gibson Drive.

    The homeowners said there were several lightning strikes in the area before the power went out and they began to smell smoke.

    “We started smelling wood burning and I just called 911 and they were here in three minutes, a whole bunch of people. Thank God we got out and nobody was hurt.”

    The homeowner told News 2 she is grateful for all the fire crews and first responders for helping her family.

    The cause of the fire is under investigation
