Driver Fatally Shot After West Town Crash, Chicago Police Investigate

Incident occurs on Northwest Side; shooter flees the scene

CHICAGO — A man was fatally shot following a vehicle collision on the city's Northwest Side early Sunday morning, according to Chicago police. The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. in the 1500 block of North Magnolia Avenue in the West Town neighborhood.

Police report that the driver of a red vehicle crashed into the victim's car, exited the vehicle, and opened fire. The shooter then fled the scene. Officers responding to the incident discovered the victim outside his vehicle with a gunshot wound to the right side of his chest.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. No arrests have been made, and Chicago police are continuing their investigation.

Authorities have urged anyone with information about the shooting to come forward as the search for the suspect continues.
